Originally developed as a self-defense weapon, the Taurus 605 in cal. 357 Magnum sets standards in design, performance and reliability.

It has a single / double action trigger, a rigid sight and a transfer bar for additional safety.

This safety device is regularly found in revolvers with a firing pin integrated in the frame. In simple terms, the hammer cannot reach the firing pin unless the transfer bar is "pushed together" to transmit the hammer's blow to the firing pin. The transfer bar only slides between the hammer and firing pin when the trigger is fully pulled.
